Happy Halloween!!

Well we finally got settled back into our normal schedules after our great trip to Texas, just in time for HALLOWEEN!! πŸ˜€

Since we were gone for half of the month, we didn’t decorate much this year :-/ boo!! But we did get into the Halloween spirit with lots of CANDY & Cute costumes and some face belly painting as well. πŸ™‚

We were SOOOO GLAD to FINALLY Β have trick-or-treaters this year! In fact, I feel that we were a little We usually NEVER have but maybe 2 or 3 kinds come by when we lived in our old apartments, but this year we had TONS & TONS of kids stop by. At first we were giving them about 3 pieces of candy each, then as our candy bowl began to dwindle and the groups of kids kept coming, we had to limit it down to 2 pieces per kid, then finally down to 1 piece just to stretch it out as long as possible. πŸ˜› We’ve never RUN OUT of candy before, so we were definitely excited that Halloween this year was a *complete success*!!

Someone really liked all the TRICK-OR-TREATERS!!!…. πŸ™‚

Her little tail kept wagging every time the door bell rang! πŸ™‚ Her big brother Lucas on the other hand is “too old” for dressing up (teenagers! :-P) and he stayed as far away from the commotion as possible! lol

Afterwards, Hubby decorated my tummy which was super fun considering we didn’t actually carve a pumpkin this year. We MADE one instead…

(I’m growing a wittle pumpkin!! :-D)

Then we ate yummy Chicken Tortilla soup and watched Hocus Pocus to end our fun-filled night.

When on the phone with my momma, it amazed me when she said “Just think next year, if all goes well, you’ll have a baby to dress up for Halloween!” πŸ˜€ Wow! She’s right, I’ve always dressed up my cute furbabies, but the thought of dressing up my little man is very surreal and exciting all at the same time. πŸ˜€

I can’t believe it’s NOVEMBER ALREADY!!! I know *TWO* very special ladies who’s birthday is in the sweet month of November πŸ˜€ Then after that it’s THANKSGIVING!! Β Yum Yum!! By then, I’ll have a wittle TURKEY in my tummy!! ;-P heheΒ You know that once November hits, December and January are just around the corner….CRAZY HUH!?…don’t you just love the *HOLIDAYS*!!! πŸ˜€

This morning I FINALLY jumped in on the Pumpkin CRAZE and made some Pumpkin Oats and I must say, it was pretty fabulous!!

I’m loving them and definitely planning on making them more often. (Better late than never huh?!)

Hope you all had a wonderful Halloween!

*soyyy good!*

Happy Saturday friends!

Today we woke up to weather in the mid 40’s here in the D.C. area, I must say it’s quite LOVELY!! πŸ™‚ I personally LOVE this weather, hubby on the other hand is a Texas boy at heart and doesn’t enjoy the colder weather much at all. I can’t believe OCTOBER is here already!! Seems like just yesterday it was beginning to feel like summer was right around the corner and now HALLOWEEN is but a few weeks away. I love October because it’s Breast Cancer Awareness month and it’s so nice to see all the NFL teams and players supporting the cause with there cute pink football gear. I can definitely respect a man wearing pink to support such a great cause! πŸ˜‰

With the new month I’ve also decided that to make a few goals for October, just to keep me motivated! Goals include:

1. Incorporating YOGA into my workout routine

2. Stretching before and after working out (I’m lazy post workout and NEVER do this but I know of the many benefits of stretching)

3. Plan weekly meals and STICK to it. (I started off planning each week, then a slowly quit sticking to it after a couple of weeks…)

4. Create a more structured workout schedule (Lately, I’ve been going with the flow and I’d just think I’d benefit more from my workouts if they were more structured and focused)

5. Have another *GIRLS* day!!

6. Take tons of pics to create memories for us and baby, especially when we go home to visit the Fam<3!

7. Eat more VEGGIES, I’m pretty good at the fruit part, but I need to include a daily amount of veggies into my diet for me and baby!

That’s my OCTOBER goal list and I don’t think I’ll have a problem meeting them, some will be harder than others, like the Yoga one, bc I’m not a yoga expert, but it’ll definitely challenge me to be more creative with my workouts.

So Hubby and I have this little food tradition, it’s something we do every Saturday and we both look forward to it because we don’t get to eat breakfast together during the week. We have *BREAKFAST TACO SATURDAY’S* every Saturday! Lately it has consisted of potato and egg tacos. He could literally eat them EVERYDAY and never get tired of them. Me on the other hand….NOT so much…I love having a variety, especially when it comes to food! So inspired by our taco tradition, we came across a new to us product: Trader Joes Soy Chorizo.

(source) {Sorry I had to borrow this image bc I didn’t take a pic of it before hubby opened the pkg}

We’ve always eaten regular chorizo before, our families both ate it, so we grew up eating it on the regular. Since being in D.C., we’ve haven’t found the kind of chorizo we prefer, so our chorizo and egg taco days haven’t existed since moving to the new casa….that is until we found TJ’s soy chorizo!! At first, I wasn’t sure if it would meet the mark, not that I’m doubting TJ’s at all, I LOVE the place and their products, but once you’ve had “the real deal” other substitutes don’t always meet one’s expectation.

So this morning I was eager to try our this new product and I must say……..

IT WAS *OH SO YUMMY*!!!!! No joke, I think I like it BETTER than regular chorizo!!! πŸ˜€ And that makes me HAPPY!!!!

{My taco with yummy green salsa and louisiana hot sauce on the side! I love the adding an extra kick of spicy-ness to my food! ;-)}

{Hubby’s creation of both potato & egg and soy chorizo & egg}

The texture was the same, except it had NO GREASE (*happy dance*) which was pretty amazing if you’ve ever cooked with the real stuff. Surprisingly hubby loved it too-which is always good! So our taco Saturday will now include SOY CHORIZO TACOS!!! πŸ˜€

I must say, this is the start of a wonderful weekend in our house! πŸ˜‰ We’re off to the gym, and then later we’ll be watching the *HORNS* play ball with from friends.

Hope you have a great weekend!

Got any new to you products that you’re loving??

What are some of your family food traditions??

All things *FALL*

Happy Friday!!Β

I don’t know about where you are but here in the D.C. area it’s be soooo lovely! Yesterday a nice little cold breeze came in and it TOTALLY felt like *FALL*!!! We went outside late last night to walk the pup and I had to put on my Texas sweater because it was SOOO COLD! The one thing I absolutely LOVE about Virginia is the fact that we get to experience ALL FOUR seasons here. I love Texas to the extreme, but I hate missing out on my favorite season ever: FALL.

The above pic pretty much says it all…but I thought I’d give you more specifics as to why I LOVE FALL:

1. The cool weather means….oh yes…FOOTBALL season!

2. Cooler weather also means all things *PUMPKIN*!! I especially love the oh so glorious Pumpkin spice coffee!! (decaf of course!)

3. Cooler weather also means, cute snuggle bunnies to cozy up with…(the Hubby of course πŸ˜‰ and my sweet little furbabies!!)

[Isn’t this pic TOO cute?! I had to add it!] (source)

My sweet princess Lexie on Halloween!

My workout buddy Lucas!

&& of course my super sweet & (sexy) hubby [& “baby-daddy” :-P]

4. Fall means changes in the foliage, which I LOVE! When I first moved here, I was completely taken back by the fact that the leaves do indeed change color here, unlike in Texas where they just simply fall without any color change whatsoever. I love seeing the beautiful foliage all along the highway, it’s simply beautiful.

5. Cooler weather also means lovely sweaters and super comfy boots! (I am one sweater/jacket fanatic!..& it drives hubby crazy, BUT I swear you can never have too many! πŸ˜‰ Wouldn’t you agree!?)

6. Best of all, FALL means…..the HOLIDAYS are near and holidays are always great for spending time with wonderful *family & friends*!!! πŸ˜€

So what is your FAVORITE season and why do you love it so much?
