Be awesome!

Heyy there…so I know it’s been almost a MONTH. geez, where has the time gone?

I’m not deliberately not posting or updating, I’ve just been well…SWAMPED. Not in a bad way, just in a super crazy, busy kinda way. I’m a full time mommy by day and grad student by night. Though I do love both dearly, I haven’t been able to find extra time for the bloggy. Between socratic seminars, dirty diapers, children’s book critiques, baby food making, essays, baths….{you get the picture}…I’m still working on a schedule, but honestly we just go with the flow here. πŸ™‚ Every day is a different day and we’re just enjoying the sheer randomness. πŸ˜‰ I will say, a sweet glass of wine has been my best friend after a super busy night. {I may actually become a wine-o, for real!}

This is what my schedule has been like lately:

Get the picture? {P.s. I just had to add my favorite sticker…we must KEEP CALM & CARRY ON! πŸ˜‰ always!}

So almost OCTOBER! YAY! Bring on the cooler weather, scarfs, beautiful fall leaves and boots! I’m ready for it ALL…however I’m hoping is stays warmer here and the fall transition delays itself a bit since I will be going home for a couple of weeks. So looking forward to seeing the fam, and mostly seeing Little Man’s reaction to everyone. He is currently on a “I only want mommy” phase, mixed in with a bit of seperation anxiety, so it should be exciting to see how he adjusts to new people. & Mommy is looking forward to extra arms to hold my sweet pumpkin.

My classes have been going well, 2 classes is TOUGH, but I’m managing it well. I’ve been doing A LOT, I mean A LOT of reading, lots of kids/young adult books and novels. I enjoy the reading but hate doing critiques on them…but that’s ok. I’ll get better at it with more practice.

Speaking of reading, I found an awesome FREE book mark printable, that I just have to share. Nothing like FREE, cute, awesome stuff right?! Download, print and get to READING! πŸ˜€

{β€œBe awesome! Be a book nut!” -Dr. Seuss}

What are your favorite NEW reads? OR what have you been reading lately?!

Confession:-I’ve totally been slacking on Fifty Shades of Grey….school reading has taken up all of my reading time these days and to be honest…..I can’t read these lovely children’s books and novels and then switch over to read a risque book that makes blush like CRAZAYY!! πŸ˜› haha So Mr. Grey will just have to wait a while..or until this semester is over unfortunately.

Have a great day friends!

Aiden…6 months

Somebunny is…..*6 months old*!!!!!!! I seriously cannot believe my little man is half a year old already..geez the time has FLOWN by. πŸ™‚

At 6 months…Aiden..

-has become more aware of his hands and uses his fingers Β more precisely. We’ve caught him starting as his fingers as we moves them around, with a look on his face like “whoaaa, that’s cool!”

-has started SOLIDS, though it’s not a complete immersion into solids since he gets all of his nutirtion from mommy’s milk still. { I will say as excited as I was to start solids,…I didn’t factor in the consequences of loaded diapers these days…not so fun..haha :-P)

-loves sweet potatoes, carrots and pears, isn’t really a big fan of bananas.

-has been having visits from the TEETHING bug lately…we’ve definitely seen a few days of random irriatblitly especially at night, lots of drooling, and tons of fussiness. :-/ Still not teeth yet though…hoping the teething bug will peak so we can get a few days of rest soon.

-it’s getting better everyday with pulling out his paci and putting it back in now.

-has discovered his feet…or better yet the taste of his wittle toes.

-LOVES books…all books, especially opening them and EATING them.

-has been sitting up more and more but still prefers to recline and relax 70% of the time. Sitting up on his own is apparently overrated to him.

-loves to snuggle and be held

-recognizes Daddy and smiles with joy when he comes home from work.

-recognizes Lucas and Lexie now and laughs when he sees them.

-is STILL the master of rolling over from tummy to back…we place him on his tummy and try to lift his legs to help him get into the crawling position but he straightens out and rolls over and SMILES at his accomplishment.

-watched part of his first Texas football game. Hook ‘Em Horns!

-loves his monkey but also enjoys Maya’s V-Tech barnyard toy.

-has the cutest curls especially on the side of his head.

-sees mom and whines, and reaches for me to pick him up. Totally a mommy’s boy πŸ™‚

-TALKS…began to say “Da-da-da-da-da,” Β “Ba-ba-ba-ba-ba,” “Ga-ga-ga-ga-ga” and “Ghee-Ghee-Ghee-Ghee.” I’ve been trying to get him to say “Ma-ma” but he has yet to pick up on it.. of course! lol

-is very curious and aware of his surroundings whenever we go somewhere and is always so interested in these new places. It’s adorable to see his little brain hard in thought.

I can’t believe how fun he is at this age, it’s definitely a change from a newborn, though I do miss those days sometimes, I greatly enjoy this new chapter of our lives. He’s becoming more of a big boy each and every day!

“I’ll love you forever,
I’ll like you for always,
As long as I’m living,
my baby you’ll be.”
